Our Story
IT ALL BEGAN WITH LOVE
Links for Life began in Kern County in 1992 by founders Carol Barraza and Sharyn Woods. Their purpose was to start an organization that would promote breast cancer awareness, and provide services for women coping with cancer. That dream was realized when the organization became a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1993.
Links for Life Kings County was established in 1999 as a branch of Links for Life Bakersfield through the generous donations of local businesses and individuals. Fundraising is accomplished largely through our annual Pink Passion Picnic. Today, our mission has expanded to offer service, support and survival to men and women with breast cancer.
